WE WON
Hailman Gets Last Lap Win The SportMods again went through 4 tough qualifying heats and a B feature to narrow the field to 20 cars and provided 3 wide racing all night long. Eric Tinderholt jumped to the early lead but Jerry Lankton moved to the top spot on lap 2 and was looking to become the 8th different winner this season. Lankton started pulling away from the field as Mickey Burrell began his charge to the top spots on lap 7 and set his sights on Lankton. On lap 10,Shawn Williams night came to an end as his car stalled in turn 4. On the restart Lankton found Burrell close behind as JC Morton moved into the mix for the lead along with Mike Hailman and last weeks winner Roy Maynard. On lap 17, Morton moved ahead of Burrell only to see Burrell take back the lead on lap 18 as Hailman moved around Lankton for third. On lap 19, while it was a 3 wide battle for the lead, Gary Rodocker’s car spun in turn 4 setting up a 1 lap shootout. With Burrell in the lead, Morton choose the inside lane on the double-file restart with Hailman getting the outside. The Green and White both came out together as Hailman found a good bite up high in the turns and barely nipped Burrell for the win to become the first repeat winner in SportMods with Burrell, Morton,Maynard and Lankton completing the top 5 as 16 of the 20 starters finished on the lead lap and only 3 cautions flew in the feature. |

3rd PLACE
The SportMod feature had local resident JC Morton grab the opening lead over the 20 car field and never looked back in grabbing his first win of the season. Morton was able to withstand a 2 lap shootout over the field as point leader Billy Street and Mike Hailman battled hard for the runner-up spots with Mike Watson and Darrin Crisler following close behind. Mike started 14th in the feature. He had a rough time trying to get through the field of 20 cars. Mike finished 3rd place! It was a good night to get some point, and we did just that. This race moves Mike into 2nd Place in the Point Standings . Jim H. |

WE WON!
Mike Hailman grabbed the early lead in the Sport Mod feature but it wasn’t easy as Charlie Gentile gave chase. Sean Williams was quietly working his way forward and even overtook the leader Hailman only to have the caution fly sending him back 1 spot. A 2 lap shootout at the end would see Gentile make a run at Hailman, but he jumped the cushion in turn 2 loosing a few spots as a tight pack battled for third place as Billy Street, Andy Beauchamp and a hard charging Jerry Lankton rounded out the top 5 as 2-3 wide racing as the norm all night long. Oh, by the way, Mike also won his heat!!

2nd Place
Well, we did not win, but we got a very hard fought second. The track was very dry and dusty. Every one had to run the top of the race track and there wasn't very much passing. We are still first in points. |

3rd Place
Not too good of a race this week. We won our heat race. Had clutch trouble all night and finished 3rd. That's all I can say. Jim |

WON!
This was a very very hard race to win. We did not win our heat race, came in second. Had to start third row, now the place to start on this race track tonight. That put us on the inside row, and Mike had to work his way to the top of the track. Three of the cars starting up front were very fast. We passed two cars on the inside, boy was I surprised and excited. Then, we got to the outside and passed one more to put us in second place. With about five laps to go, Mike pass the other car, and we took the lead for good. Mike drove the wheels off the car, HE DID A GREAT JOB. We had a great pit crew last night, thanks to Christina, Carol, Brian, and John Gamble (and I helped some also). ~Jim |

4th Place
Well, we finally got to race (NO RAIN). The weather was a perfect 85*.
We won our heat race, but it was a tough war. The feature started with 24 cars.
We actually got to finish a race with out trouble. Mike drove the car as hard as
I have ever seen. We finished 4th. An all of us was very happy it was over.
Several bad wrecks and a roll over made this race something you were just happy
to get a good finish.
Mike also drove the #86 bomber car. He was never in or driven a bomber car in
his life. He won the heat race by a full straight away. When it came to feature
it was a little harder but he pulled off a well earned win. All in all we had a
great night of racing.
We had so many bad days of racing in the last few weeks that we lost the points
lead by about 20 points but last night we got back about 17 of those hard
earned points. Just a guess but I think we are about three or four points
out of the lead right now with five races to go for the 2008 season.

7th Place
We did OK. We finished 7th. And Mike Watson who we are battling with for first place points finished 11th. We gained six points on him, now we are only 14 points down from the championship with only two races left this year. Mike is working hard to beat him. Jim |

3rd in Heat
Running 5th place in the feature when car #04 in front spun-out in the 19th lap causing Mike to spin-out to keep from hitting #04. Mike then was back in 20th and finished 14th.
"The 1st yellow waved as B feature winner Jimmy Greenway came to a halt out of turn 4 bringing out the yellow and bunching up the field. On the restart, Hartwigsen again jumped to the lead with Hawkins, Kelley, Fulp and Henson running 2-3 wide in tight action as Leslie Essary was starting to make his presence known along with Mike Hailmann ." |
